The Beginning of The Journey

"Beginning is the most important part of work" - Plato

Today is the first meeting for bookkeeping this school year. It should have been last week but unfortunately, we had a suspension of classes due to heavy rain. I am very excited since I could challenge myself in bookkeeping once again. But at the same time nervous because I would now be back to the old days: squeezing my mind out just to finish all the required documents and (almost) smashing the keys of my calculator just to balance the debit and the credit. But the thing that made more nervous are the stories that Sr. Randy told us last year about this year's topic which is Merchandising. But regardless of anything, I wish I could pass this year with flying colors and unicorns.

Not much is done today, Sr. Randy oriented us for about 45 minutes and through that orientation, I noticed a few differences regarding this year's requirements compared to the previous year. One is that, we would now use EDMODO for our learning log, e-portfolio and other online educational platforms. The other one is that we would now use Cornell Note Taking System in our class. I was a bit shocked regarding these changes. I used Cornell Notes last year and I admit, it really helps me in organizing my notes; but making these takes time. While EDMODO is just new to me now. I never knew a site like this existed until last week and I am having a hard time in getting to know it. But I think, I would be better at using it as time passes.

After the orientation, we had a short lesson since we only have a little time left. Then we had a pretest where almost half of the questions are answered with a guess. The pretest gave me an overview of what would we be talking about for this quarter. And I have one word to describe my reaction to it: WHAT? This is the same reaction I had last year on our pretest. Based on experience, I know that my reaction would not last for long since slowly, Sr. Randy would help me understand these concepts.
