Merchandising Documents (Part II)

Just like last meeting, today was used to show us the true environment of a bookkeeper: with documents. Merchandising documents such as sales invoice, purchase order, official receipt, and cash vouchers which are used in different transactions were introduced to us today. As we tackle this topic, again, I faced some difficulty it determining what to credit, and what to debit. This really put my analytical skills to test. To overcome my difficulty I just out myself in the situation and asked: "Ano yung nakuha ko? Ano yung biinigay ko?" based on the situation situated in the documents. I somehow understand how these documents works but I am still not confident enough to do this on my own, which is why I would try to seek assistance from Sr. Randy if I would have the time to do so, aswell as try to ask my cousins who are CPA's about this.

Today we did a Job Sheet where we would apply our learning in merchandising documents. Each document would only be flashed for 3 mins which is why I had a hard time in coping up with the pace of my block mates. I allotted each 3 mins this way: 2 mins to analyze the document then the remaining 1 min to write down the entry. I am not a fast writer which is why I need to have a time to do that. Through time management, I was able to get a pretty high score. But this Job Sheet just proved to me that I should be able to think fast as well as write fast because (there is a tremendous clock looking at me. joke.) bookkeepers should be fast as well as accurate at all times.
